Achievements
The Universal Gas Distribution Company (Private) Limited was incorporated under Section 32 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (XLVII) with effect from 2nd July 2014. The company is duly registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The founding members of the company have a long history of actively participating in the gas-related business in Pakistan. All of them have been engaged in the gas business since 1996 or later.
UGDC is the only private sector entity in the country that holds a license for the sale of Natural Gas alongside two state-owned gas companies involved in the sale of Natural Gas, namely, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited. UGDC is also the first private sector entity in Pakistan to source LNG/Gas for its consumers to meet the growing gas demands of the country and assist the government in addressing the ever-increasing gas needs.
UGDC’s consumers encompass all categories of gas consumers, including CNG stations, industrial units, and bulk consumers across the country. Any gas consumer can become a customer of UGDC by signing a standard Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement with information from OGRA.
UGDC is a well-resourced company equipped with a highly skilled workforce that possesses a deep understanding and knowledge of various countries’ value chains, particularly highlighting the significant role of Qatar Gas as a major LNG producer worldwide. Furthermore, UGDC has entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with ExxonMobil, Qatar Gas, Trafigura, and Vitol to fulfill its long-term responsibilities related to procuring LNG to meet the increasing gas demands of the country.
UGDC holds a valid Natural Gas import and sale license.
UGDC signed MSPA with international suppliers for supply of LNG.
UGDC holds a capacity agreement with LNG terminal operator/capacity holder
UGDC initialed the Gas Transportation Agreement GTA/Access Agreements with sui companies.
Gas Sale Agreements in downstream with the 600 plus gas customers.
Executed Gas Supply Agreements with MOL, OGDCL,PPL,GHPL & PIEDMC
Gas Sales Agreements ( GSA) signed with Century Paper & Board Mill, I Pak, Oreal Ceramics, ICL, CERAMICA, TG & PIEDMC.
