UGDC Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy

UGDC is firmly committed to carrying on safe, responsible and sustainable operations that will protect the people, communities and the environment while providing reliable and lower-carbon energy to meet the growing gas demand. The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy serves as a cornerstone of UGDC’s operational philosophy, which underscores both the incorporation of sound safety practices, environmental responsibility and compliance with laws/regulations into all aspects of its activities.

People & Processes

  1. Ensure that leadership at every level demonstrates visible commitment to HSE excellence, driving a consistent safety culture throughout all operations.
  2. Align organizational processes with applicable Pakistan regulatory frameworks and recognized international HSE standards to ensure legal compliance and best-in-class performance
  3. Ensure all operations are compliant with relevant health regulations, recognized industry standards and international best practices.
  4. Work to create a healthy, engaged and inclusive workforce with a commitment to diversity, equity and meaningful careers.
  5. Provide ongoing health, education, prevention programs and medical support to the workforce under the umbrella of UGDC Family Plan.
  6. Work with contractors, suppliers, joint ventures and partners to uphold our health and safety standards through the supply chain.
  7. Be open and transparent and build public confidence through communication of our health and safety performance with stakeholders.

Employees Safety

“Safety at the core of every operation.”

  1. All individuals engage in field operations are periodically involved in drills, training for emergency response, site-specific safety inductions, and awareness sessions for procedures.
  2. Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) are conducted for every field activity, every business-critical process.
  3. Safety culture remains entrenched within UGDC and is characterized by:
  • open and honest reporting
  • reactively identifying hazards and being proactive in how we identify hazards
  • having the determination to uphold HSE above everything else
  1. The right equipment and tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), safety tool sets and job specific equipment are readily and regularly available and maintained in proper working order at each field worksite.
  2. All UGDC operations are required to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations and applicable subsidiary of regulations and guidance materials necessary to meet labor, occupational health and safety and environmental laws in Pakistan.

Environment

  1. The Company is committed to advancing to the use energy efficiency, cleaner technologies and sustainable use of resources to support a low-carbon future.
  2. Protection of the environment remains a priority, with many measures to continue to prevent pollution and minimize emissions across all activities.
  3. The Company regularly demonstrates compliance with all relevant environmental laws and regulations and established international standards.
  4. Environmental considerations are placed in planning, decision making and operations.
  5. Environmental performance will continue to improve using new technologies, best practice and found opportunities through improvement processes and operational excellence frameworks.
